July / August - Design
Throughout July and August, the focus of events across Australia will be on design.
Designers look for simple and elegant solutions to challenges, balancing creativity with cost-effectiveness and innovative construction. 'Design as a skill creates new definitions of form for function' (The Victorian State of Design Festival 2009).
Following the State of Design Festival (16 July to 3 August 2009) in Melbourne, which saw over 60 events, Sydney is hosting Sydney Design 09 (1-16 August).
Design production ideas will be celebrated by over 1000 designers, architects, manufacturers and media people at WORKSHOPPED, Powerhouse Museum (5-16 August).
